How to Increase the Safety of Using Terracotta Plates on High-Rise Building?
It is very common that having a mesh on the back of stone slate. Because crevices are distributed widely in the natural stone materials and affect the performance of the rock. Rainscreen plates normally do not have such problem. But if damaged by a heavy heating, the panels may broken in several pieces, which will be dangerous when using in a high-rise building.
Paste the glass fiber reinforced mesh behind the stone. This method is the most commonly used in recent years, but also the best results, high production efficiency of an enhanced fragile stone strength process.
Why not using this on the Terracotta Plates to increase the safety when applied in the high-rise building?
It is LOPO’s fist project using mesh on the back of terracotta plates to improve the safety of terracotta panels when applying in the high-rise building in China. Below is the procedure in details:
1. Arrange Terracotta Plates on a protected sheet, put the back side up.
2. Cover the installation grooves on the back
3. Cover the glass fiber reinforced mesh on the panels
4. Pull the special adhesive on the mesh
5. Evenly spread the adhesive make sure corners all covered
6. Cut the extra mesh after adhesive dry completely.
